Swimming with Fionn

The wind wasn’t ideal, nor was the swell. Fionn was keen to test a longer board he’d recently picked up. I was keen for a swim. As luck would have it, the wind dropped a little and surfing conditions improved. The sun even appeared until it set. On its maiden voyage the board excelled, slicing the choppy wave faces and accompanying Fionn through one of the few barrels on offer. At dusk we made our way back into the harbour and up the slippery ladder, a noteworthy obstacle in high winds when with a bigger board and a pair of flippers. It was a very enjoyable session indeed.
